A55/A5 Information on failure to pay the toll

USER GUIDE: Toll Non-Payment Reports issued on the network managed by ITP.

If the toll due (in whole or in part) is not paid (due to, for example, unavailability of cash, insufficient credit or lack of or incorrect reading of credit, Viacard and debit cards, improper use of reserved lanes, or due to temporary technical problems at the toll station), a non-payment report is issued. In such a case, a receipt will be issued which will show, next to the letter R indicating non-payment, the vehicle data (class and number plate), the transit data (date, time, exit tollbooth and, where available, also the entry tollbooth) and the amount to be paid.

The toll must be paid within and no later than 15 days from the date of issue/transit in order not to incur any surcharge using one of the methods indicated below, which are valid for non-payment reports issued along the ITP network (SATT – Tangenziale di Torino and branch Torino-Pinerolo, A5 motorway Torino-Quincinetto section, A4/A5 slip road Ivrea-Santhià):

  • online (without any surcharge) by accessing this link using Satispay or major credit/debit/prepaid cards
  • via Bank Transfer to
    •  IBAN: IT60-I-05034-01006-000000013829
    •  SWIFT: BAPPIT22XXX
      In the name of ITP S.p.A. Corso Vittorio Emanuele II 178 – 10138 TORINO including in the payment reference the number plate and/or the number of the toll non-payment report;
  • at a toll collector operating a manual toll gate on the ITP S.p.A. network  (within 15 days from the date of transit) upon presentation of the receipt.

If payment is made after the deadline, the amount shall be increased by € 2.58 for assessment charges. If non-payment persists, recovery procedures will be activated and the holder of the vehicle will receive a Toll Payment Reminder at his or her domicile plus collection and notification charges.

 

Please note that in the event of delayed payment of the toll beyond the aforementioned deadline, the relevant documents may be forwarded to the Traffic Police, for consequent notification of administrative sanctions pursuant to Art. 176(11) and (21), Italian Highway Code, for ascertained breach of the obligation to pay the motorway toll (which provides for the payment of a penalty between € 87.00 to € 344.00, and the loss of 2 points from the actual offender’s driving licence).

Online forms and communications to the Non-Payment Office

ITP allows users to enter communications and reports online by accessing the Online Forms page. Users may therefore use the online form to report the following problems:

  • If the non-payment ticket, for whatever reason, has not been issued or is illegible and the user has not been able to pay the toll even though the barrier rose, the user must provide all transit data (tollbooth, time, lane where known, number plate and type of vehicle) in order to receive all the information necessary to pay the toll.
  • For debit requests to Viacard account or Telepass(to be made within 15 days from the date of transit). (In Telepass debit requests the request may be granted only and exclusively if the number plates are associated with a Telepass contract that is open and valid at the time of transit and, if the transit took place in a dedicated Telepass lane. Requests for Viacard toll card debit will only be accepted if the Viacard was duly issued at the time of transit. It is not possible to debit the transit on a prepaid Viacard).
  • For requests for SET/SIT MP DEVICE debit, requests must be submitted exclusively to your service provider.
  • In the case of a sold or leased vehicle, indicating the name to which the payment reminder should be addressed and providing all data and documents relating to the sale and/or lease.
  • In the event of lost ticket/failure to read the entry station: according to the provisions of the Italian Highway Code (Article 176), users without an entry ticket shall pay the toll, calculated from the farthest entry station. The user is given the option of proving (by means of receipts, invoices, third-party testimonials, etc.) the actual station of entry, together with a copy of a valid identity document. However, ITP reserves the right to carry out subsequent checks on the truthfulness of the declarations in order to rectify the amount of the non-payment.
  • In case of transit not carried out, specify the reasons for the request.
  • In case of payment already made, attach a scan/copy of the successful payment.
